FOR THE FAMILY: Canoe the Upper Iowa River, boat/fish/swim/camp at Lake Hendricks; camp/hike/fish/explore the Nature Center at Vernon Springs; miles of bike trails, snowmobiling, cross country skiing, off-road trails, visit the largest fitness center in the region (indoor pool, track and basketball court, hot tub, weights), dirt track racing, golf courses, excellent hunting and fishing areas.

SHOP: Visit the largest flower and produce market in the region (Cedar Valley), the Amish and Mennonite greenhouses and shops, farmers markets in Chester, Cresco, Elma, Lime Springs, Protivin, and Riceville, art galleries, bike shop, quilt shop and other specialty shops.
