Tami Mikkelson Hoag was born January 20, 1959, in Cresco, Iowa and was raised in Harmony, MN. Tami credits early reading and self-entertainment for shaping her desire to write. She worked in the circulation department of the La Crosse Tribune after high school and was a former horse trainer and salesperson before becoming a full-time author.
