Old Roundhouse Trail Days
Old Roundhouse Trail Days is Elma’s annual town festival and offers a weekend of music, food and fun for all who attend. It is so named to commemorate the rich railroad history in Elma, when the “roundhouse” (an engine or rail car turning & maintenance facility) was located here to repair equipment for the Chicago Great Western rail line. This is Howard County’s second festival of the year.
Most Trail Days events take place in the Elma City Park, at the intersection of Maple Street and 4th Street, with the exception of the 5K Walk/Run event, breakfasts on Saturday and Sunday morning, and the parade Saturday morning. The parade route begins at the Innovative Ag Services building on the north end of Busti Avenue, makes a turn right (west) onto Elm Street, then a quick left (south) onto 4th Street and another quick turn right onto Main Street. The parade then follows Main Street west all the way to 9th Street where it ends at the Colonial Manor nursing home/Afton Oaks assisted living facilities.
It all takes place this July12-14, 2024. Come on out for a weekend of great fun, friends, and celebration! Fireworks are Friday night, with rain date set Saturday night. Live music Friday and Saturday night!
