History buffs can visit the boyhood home and farm of Dr. Norman Borlaug, learn why we are so proud of Ellen Church, and stop in at the Iowa Wrestling Hall of Fame.

Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy canoeing, snowmobiling, cross country skiing, hiking, off-road trails, and miles of bike trails. Take some time to explore Lake Hendricks in Riceville and the Nature Center at Vernon Springs.We have dirt track racing, three golf courses, and excellent hunting & fishing opportunities.

Enjoy a run or walk on one of our many bike trails. Work-out along the trail with by using our strategically placed outdoor equipment along the Prairie Springs Recreation Trail. This scenic experience adds a challenge to all fitness levels.

Chamber & Courthouse

The Cresco Chamber of Commerce is a community within itself. It brings its members together to not only benefit the community but also to benefit each other. Through various events, you will meet, network, and connect with a wide array of influential professionals.
The Howard County Courthouse in Cresco, Iowa, United States was built in 1880. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1981 as a part of the County Courthouses in Iowa Thematic Resource. The courthouse is the third building the county has used for court functions and county administration.
